Not Yet Sikat

Alec Baldwin makes a joke on a May 12 David Letterman episode that he doesn’t have much luck with ladies so he’d rather get a Filipina (or Russian) mail-order bride. He was then put on the Immigration blacklist as an “undesirable alien” and has consequently issued an apology on his blog:

“…However, I do apologize to anyone who took offense. The comments of some Philippine government officials come as no surprise to me, either. Even the one by a former action film star-turned-Senator who beckoned me to come to the Philippines so he could “beat” me over my comment.

Such anger and frustration about the issue of sex trafficking is understandable. The Philippines has suffered significant problems with the issue of sex trafficking and I would like to turn your attention to the work of an organization called Love146 that my brother Stephen educated me about…”

This comes a few months after that whole Chip Tsao “nation of servants” brouhaha. Why haven’t the Russians blacklisted him, too? Are we being too sensitive about this? (Somebody should put up a tally of these things beginning with Claire Danes!)
