Chika ang inabot ko…
“He clearly owned the crowd, like he was a punk-rock Moses atop a rock ‘n’ roll Sinai.”
Aldus Santos lists the ten best things from the recently concluded Eraserheads’ Final Set Concert. Here are my favorites:
- During El Bimbo, Ely pours lighter fluid on the piano and sets it on fire! (According to Pinoy Rock Central, the piano is currently being restored.)
- Subtle changes in lyrics – “Chika ang inabot ko…“, “Medyo pangit ka pa non, hanggang ngayon!”
- “Group hug!” the several-thousands-strong crowd insisted, to which Ely quipped, “Kayo muna!”
- Buendia rid himself of his designer jacket, helicopter-twirled it a la Pete Townshend, and hurled it at the crowd. During the latter half of the show, he threw out, erm, a shoe. (Here are photos from Karla Redor of what happened to the thrown stuff.)
- Eheads covers Kaleidoscope World as a tribute to Francism.
- As people were leaving the venue, they come back with an unrehearsed encore of Ligaya, Sembreak and Toyang!
