Why is Charice singing God Bless America?

“It’s a song that is so steeped in American tradition and sentiment that, one would think, it is a song that only an American should sing. Or a foreigner wanting to become an American.”

Here’s the lyrics:

God Bless America,/ Land that I love. / Stand beside her, and guide her / Thru the night with a light from above. /From the mountains, to the prairies, / To the oceans, white with foam /God bless America, My home sweet home.

  1. There is nothing wrong with it IMO. Maybe it is just a song for Charice and much deeper for deeper for the audience. But an Obama staffer did request that song.
