When our Bioman explained what we were supposed to do, apprehensions gripped my heart…
BIOman as in Butanding Information Officer! Jennifer Legaspi from the Philippine Star wrote about her trip to bohol and her magical experience swimming with the whale sharks:
“From the dark nothingness, suddenly we gazed into the beauty of its spotted tail, then body and for some who were just blessed, the underbelly and the face of the butanding (whale sharks or scientifically, Rhincodon typus). The last swim would always remain etched in my memory. We were able to catch after and, for a few moments, stay above a butanding. It was so near that I felt I could reach over and touch its tail.”
