Not Yet Sikat

Here are some of the latest headlines coming in on whatsikat.com’s main page:

I’m not in Manila at the moment so I wonder if the Pacquiao phenomenon still happens: empty streets, packed viewing areas, ‘live’ televised broadcasts full of commercial breaks so almost everyone who cares to know knows the result well before the ‘live broadcast’ is over. Priests also almost always incorporate the Sunday fight into their homily to please the churchgoing crowds.

I don’t see as much buzz online compared to last time though. No celebratory posts on blogs or Yahoo status messages. Still newsworthy? Still pambansang kamao? What do you think?
