Lasallian dies during high school grad ball

Inquirer reports that a 17 year old student from De La Salle Zobel fell to his death from the 6th or 7th floor of a hotel during the night of his graduation ball.

“Whether his death was accidental or the result of foul play is still the subject of a police investigation, Valerio said.

So far, the victim’s school mates are reluctant to talk, he added. “We’re having some difficulty interviewing his classmates because they came with their parents and their lawyers,” Valerio said in a phone interview.”

Could he have been drunk? Or was there foul play involved? That whole “lawyer” business sounds a bit fishy to me.

Maybe you could all pause for a minute and say a small prayer for a fallen Lasallian.

Update: In Bro. Arian’s blog, Drago makes an astute comment:

Our limited human intellects insist in interpreting it in rational and utilitarian terms, saying that it’s “sayang” and thinking of what could have been had he not passed. While I know that these are all true, I feel and I know that there’s more to life and death than a person’s accomplishments, actual or potential.
